I gotta go get fingerprinted
How long does that ink stick to your fingers anyway? Should I wear gloves to church the next day? *g*

9. I think most places use biometric scanning
Atleast I know the federal government uses it.

Are you doing this at a local police station?

10. Yeah I gotta do that too.
I'm a little pissed about it. I have to do it just because I changed districts.

I could have taught in my previous district for 10 more years and would not have had to do another bkgd check.

Oh yeah, I gotta have another TB test too.

12. Are they making you pay the $55 out of your own pocket to get
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 09:52 PM by GreenPartyVoter
printed?

I only get $600 to coach and half of that goes away in taxes. Then subtract the fingerprinting....

You know, the more I think on it, they didn't do me any favors bumping me from a volunteer to a "real" coach. :P

13. Back in the Jurassic of my youth,
everyone had to be fingerprinted for a CA driver's license. This was before colored pictures. As a matter-of-fact, back then you were fingerprinted for a lot of things like passports and business licenses, etc..

I did get upset when they put a magnetic strip on my driver's license the first time that had your whole driving record on it. It was like your credit card. I guess you can't avoid this type of identity card thing.

Fingerprinting is really retro IMHO. They usually give you something to wipe the ink off, if they still use ink. I heard now that they use something electronic that isn't messy.

14. What about getting printed to buy a house?
When we bought our Calif house, I thought this was the most absurdly invasive part of the process. The title people explained that this was put in place to curb illegal flipping. It just felt like overkill to attach our thumbprints after our financial lives had been dissected six ways from Sunday. They did use the weird ink-free process.

20. Next, they will have you peeing in a cup won't they?
I almost expect it the next time I renew my driver's license. So far the bank or CC companies haven't gone too far, but wait.

and have an FBI check run on me every year. No ink involved. Just put fingers on the glass and the prints are scanned.

23. In OK you have to be fingerprinted to get or renew a driver's license.
They take a digital scan of one finger (thumb, maybe?)
