Gas shortages?

I keep on hearing about the price of gas going up, but does anyone have more detailed information as to what our current capacity is and the chance of stations around the country running out?

edited for clarity-

Are stations going to run out because of the refineries that are offline?

1. I'd like statistics, too

I have heard such different numbers on how much of our gas is produced from the Gulf area - from 8% up to 30%! What is realistic? If it's nearer to 8%, then there really should not be this big of a price jump.
