3. Brian Williams mentioned about 500 people stranded on the highway,
with some kids in the group, no food or water for 3 days. One woman carried a small child who had lost consciousness. Folks, there are kids dying because bush cut funding to fix the levees and then ate cake while the damn things failed.

2. Who knows?
And all the elderly diabetics who will die without insulin, and people in need of medications. The NYT today had a picture of a woman who's husband died, not because of drowning, but because he had lung cancer and didn't have access to oxygen.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands, are going to die of things like dehydration, water-borne diseases, etc. In other words, this is a major health crisis - no, catastrophe.

4. There are babies without anything to drink
People are waiting for rescue for days with infants and very young children. They have no drinking water. Yesterday we saw people who were on the overpass for 2 days with babies and no help in the sweltering heat. The FOX guy, Smith, to his credit, got one of the families out who had a 5-day old infant who was limp and burning up.
