Limbaugh's mea culpa

Anyone else want to bet that in a few days or weeks Limbaugh sees the "error"of his ways, finds Jesus, gets born again, goes on the 700 Club, and asks forgiveness for his pitiable mortal weakness and the terrible "disease" of addiction (see it's really a DISEASE, folks)? He will also rail on and on about how he has been demonized by the vast left wing conspiracy.
I think he'll play this for all it's worth.

The Dittoheads will lap it up with a spoon and Rush will be laughing all the way to the bank

I must admit that there is something in me that is enjoying watching this, but at the same time there is this nagging guilt about taking pleasure in someone's downfall. I don't think that we should do it.

At the same time, imagine a different outcome. Rush is a talented broadcaster. Perhaps he goes to detox --- finds out that it is a disease --- comes to the realization that we are all "swimming in the same water," has a conversion and becomes one of the most eloquent and effective "LIBERAL" broadcasters that we have ever had. I am sorry for being too "romantic" about this, but I think that this would be the best outcome of all.

If this story is true, the conservatives will eat Rush alive. I think that we should show our mettle by showing kindness and compassion to Rush. Maybe he will learn what true kindness and compassion really are.

He is the worst kind of demagogue. He twists all rules of critical thinking for his uneducated, disenfranchised audience. We should not only be happy about his downfall, we should dance on his career grave, should it take place.

There would be absolutely nothing, and I mean NOTHING morally wrong about enjoying the downfall of this despicable excuse for an asshole.

If Rush suddenly sees the error of his ways, I still wouldn't want him on our side. He is not a "talented broadcaster." If he were a talented broadcaster, he would engage in debate rather than demagoguery. He's a hack and a blowhard and just a generally mean person.

I have compassion for a lot of people, but I have a hard time working up any compassion for hypocrites.

He won't change his demagoguery and it is as unacceptable on the liberal side of the ledger as it is on the conservative side.

Well, I'm not holding my breath about Rush Limburger. My hunch is he'll stick with his old ways.

Conservatives have to search create and drum up bad puplcity about Democrats,Liberals,The Clintons which most of the time is something totally false or then it is usualy something personal and not hardly a crime.

The Left however just has to sit and wait for Conservatives to give them some dirt. The actions of Conservatives is defined in two ways. 1. It is illegal or sure should be. That is all they do commit crimes or commit horrbile acts that should be a crime.

I do think he will come out this untarnished just like Bill Bennett. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if many on the extreme right will look up to him even more. So many of his listeners consider him the greatest "journalist" thats ever lived.

Myabe in his own little tight circle, but generally I think he's been taken down a notch or two.

He tested the waters with the "black coaches refusing to meet because they knew that the head coach position was going to ---". He found that the reaction to that was tepid at best.

So, he went further. Very little of this guy's attacks are unscripted. He plays to the kind of people who are easily swayed by the argument that the minorities (read: blacks) have held them back. Substitute Jews for minorities and you have Goebbels.
