c.f. wikipedia's list of countries by income inequality.

It directly shows that the US is just below Turkmenistan in income inequality. The 2004 figures, given for the US in isolation, are worse than Cote d'Ivoire's 2000 Gini coefficient.

This does not only place us below prominently impoverished nations wrt. ncome inequality, it furthermore puts us well into the bottom half of the list of countries amongst many despotic Third World regimes.

This has dire implications with respect to the levels of economic injustice in the USA. Clinton only reduced the Gini coefficient to the level of Turkmenistan. Bush took our Gini coefficient into the territory of war-torn, famine-stricken African nations.

Cote d'Ivoire is the richest, most arable places in Africa - they have huge coffee plantations there. So they are more like a South American Country in history & practice. Still!
