CNN is intentionally slandering many blacks as "Looters"
They are constantly running a tape showing all black people carring items around and out of a Wal-Mart store. This tape is being run as footage of looters when in fact it is footage of people taking items from a Wal-Mart store that authorized people to go in and take whatever they wanted.

In fact, if you watch this tape long enough, you eventually see POLICE picking over the same items and filling up carts. This part is almost never being shown.

It seems after some confusion where the media whores started actually asking hard questions, the 'fix' is now in, talk down the death of thousands and talk up those 'dangerous blacks' rampaging through NO.

1. There is looting going on in other effect areas besides New Orleans
However, people have to use common sense and put this in perspective. New Orleans is a major city with a overly large poor black population. That's not to say there aren't poor whites there, but the simple fact is there are more poor blacks in the flooded areas of that city.

It shouldn't take a PHD in disaster planning to understand that if you combine the above with no foresight, no information and no way of knowing when help will arrive that people are going to do things they normally wouldn't do.

7. Thank you. I have lived through multiple hurricanes and the first
thing you do is get a "presence" on the streets. You establish order in chaos. It has a calming effect.

But take a group of people who never had that much, and now have lost everything and abandon them, what the Hell does anyone expect?

The mob mentality of the hopeless and forgotten has taken over. And the M$M love it. Can't post enough video. Flying around in their helicopters. Drop the whole damn bunch, coufs, manicures and pedicures, in the center of NOLA and let them fend for themselves.

I have never felt so helpless in my life.

8. All these people so concerned about the looting should ask themselves
why then weren't major plans made to get the people out that couldn't do it on their own. Its no secret that there were poor people there with no cars or other means to get out that city. You were in effect leaving these people to their own devices and when they take it upon themselves you are shocked by it? Come on!!!!

11. That is exactly the way I feel. And further, I have more understanding
for the "looting" in NOLA than I do the Boardroom. That looting has been going on for five years. Where's the outrage? Oh, that's rich white folks. That's okay.

2. Is there a link to a site showing the tape in full? I despise Fox, but
CNN is much worse.

3. The only way to stop this is to have either Keith Olberman or
the Daily Show point out the incredible bias of the media.

They're the only two honest reporters left on t.v.

5. I read in another post earlier
that some of the looting is being done with the supervision of the Police. If the police are assisting residents to get basic necessities, this would explain why the MSM is accusing police of looting too.

6. Here in Australia we're seeing footage of both
white and black looters. And it has been explained that some of that footage was of people being given permission to take whatever. We had the film of the cops filling carts too.

Pathetic that we're getting more accurate and fair reporting here. CNN is absolutely buying into the fears of young black men. It's repulsive.

9. I found a news link... they don't exactly have permission...
From the Columbia Daily Tribune:

"People said they’d heard that Wal-Mart had opened its doors to provide supplies for law enforcement agencies sheltering the 10,000-plus people in the Louisiana Superdome. A Wal-Mart spokeswoman, Sharon Weber, said that law enforcement, emergency management teams and relief agencies have "unwritten permission" to help themselves to whatever they need from Wal-Mart stores in times of crisis but that standard procedure is for the police or aid officials to "leave us a list of what they take, so they can pay us later."

But when law enforcement officials went to get their goods, others - people of all ages and races - followed. "They just came, and no one could stop them," said David Brown, 38, a Port of New Orleans employee."

Link to story.

Though if anyone has a contradictory article, I'd be happy to see it.

10. Here's your story which was also run in the Denver Post
I was interested in seeing who wrote it. It was carried in serveral papers:
http://denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_2987865

Anyone who feels a need to correspond with the reporter can reach her at the Times Picayune, no doubt:

Natalie Pompilio can be reached at npompilio@timespicayune.com or (504)826-3396.

I'm wondering if anyone knows about a group she's associated with: the Dart Center in South Africa?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Director's Note:
The Dart Center's reach has included journalists in several nations in the past year, a response to a growing commitment on our part to serve journalism worldwide.
The South African group was led by Dart Center Chair Frank Ochberg, M.D., who carried the honor of Fulbright Senior Specialist as he visited news groups and journalism schools. He was joined by Dr. Meg Moritz and Elizabeth Gaeddert of the U. of Colorado School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Dart Fellow Natalie Pompilio, a staff reporter with the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
