How patient would you be if you had no food or water and no way of knowing
when you would get some? Am I the only one tired of hearing the FEMA Director say people must be patient? People are dying and worst then that surviving and watching their love ones die. Mean while some well fed Washington paper pusher is telling them to be patient in stifling heat and stench.

1. Patience won't keep them from dying.
They need water.

2. It's easy to be patient
If you have food and water, not stuck on a roof or in an attic, a clean bed, some semblance of civil order, are not up to your ass in alligators, and are not wading through a toxic mix of chemicals and dead bodies.

3. I need refrigerated medicine every 12 hours.
I'd be dead rather swiftly.

4. Patient? As in they knew for days what was heading for NO, but they
did nothing until the last minute. And all they did then was pack the Superdome with thousands of people. In this case I think that the government was very patient in waiting for this disaster to happen so that we would have nothing but death, carnage, and chaos. And then george** was very patient, took his time like the laid back fool that he is, before he mosied (sp?) back to Washington, doing a fly over and looking at the damage for thousands of feet in the air. Yes, there's patience here, plenty. Patience to spare.

Too bad this situation is full of urgency and desperation. These people were abandoned. Left there to wait it out. Contrary to what some people here think, the haves are the ones that left. It's the poor and the old and the sick that were still there. You know, the expendable ones.

This has brought out the ugliness in a lot of people, even here.

7. I totally agree with you on this.
the people are going into day 3 of this. They are going to start dying en mass. The administration seems to be causing nothing but confusion and chaos. I've been listening to the Lousiana State Police Scanner in NO for the last couple of hours and these cops have been trying to get these buses moving and everytime they get them moving.. they are told to stop for some reason. NG was supposed to meet ambulances coming in from Austin with fuel, they were no where to be found. the EMS veichles can't do anything with out fuel. Last I heard they were waiting to meet the guard at a Texico.

This is beyond incompetence. Early on in this tragedy it was rumored that 10,000 body bags had been ordered NOLA, are they trying to make sure they are going to need to use them? The death of these people (and I feel it in the worst way that this is what is going to happen) is LIHOP all over again in my opinion.

9. They are more worried about their political image than they are
about saving lives.

10. they let that number of people die
they're gonna have more than their political image to worry about. LSP now saying that there better be some movement of EMS units and busses soon.. cause it's gonna get ugly soon. I don't know if they're talking about any specific location.. but frustration is building by all.

12. The frustration is justified IMO!
The mayor pulling 1,500 cops off of the search and rescue mission and using them to control the looters is CRIMINAL, it would seem to me. The man is causing more death, simply to play the roll of the Big Shot in charge! I'll bet he really feels big to do a thing like that! The same kind of egotistical idiot as the one in the White House. If it was me, I'd try and save every life I could save and FUCK EVERYTHING Else! Those little kids on the roof-tops aren't looting!!!!!!!!

5. Response is pathetic
Chertoff is a fool who is beyond his abilities. Michael Brown talks a good game but has nothing to offer.
Laissez-faire rescue does not work and we have seen that.
It is absurd to suggest that patience will allow people to survive 6 days without food and water, expecially while under extreme stress.

I would love to see what a bunch of repubs would do if they were in NO. Probably shoot each other.

6. Well, gosh. I hope so.
Bad aquart. Tends to get testy when hungry.

I suspect most people are nicer when fed.

8. They should drag that asshole out in the swamp and leave him
there and see how patient he is. He's doing more kissing Bush's ass than anything else. Karl must have selected him for his job, because of his ability to make lame excuses for the National Idiot.
