The Money Changers - Terror and the $1.5 Trillion Club
After looking around a little, I don't see this posted, but if its a dupe, pre-apologies.

I knew there is a lot of terra dough, and I knew we have cultural/intel difficulties tracking it.

But this? I had no idea. It doesn't talk, it swears.

We Have Barely Scraped
the Surface

Loretta Napoleoni estimates that the ‘new economy of terror’ has grown into a $1.5 trillion globe-spanning system. Dismantling it, she warns, will require a lot more resources and time.

You argue that the United States and the West played an integral part in allowing, even helping, these terror networks to form. How?

One of the major problems is that they know our system inside out—the financial and economic system—while we don’t know their system at all. That puts us at a great disadvantage. Their knowledge has allowed them to tap into many facets... We have to re-examine the entire system and find ways to cut the ties. And this will take a very long time.

Do you think the White House really prevented the intelligence community from looking into Islamic extremism sooner in order to protect the Saudis?

I think the White House undervalued the importance and the phenomenon of the emerging Islamic bourgeoisie, which is putting pressure for a regime change in Saudi Arabia to get rid of the House of Saud. (U.S. administration officials) thought that Islamic terror was an isolated phenomenon that took place rarely and outside the United States; therefore, they didn’t let the FBI investigate the Islamic jihad.
