Pentagon response " we didn't get specific local requests for help"
The reason that the Feds are giving for not doing anything to evacuate those who are not at the dome is that "the troops waiting on the ground are unable to act" because "we didn't get specific local requests for help"

Translation. We don't have names and addresses for those that need help so we are waiting for that or perhaps, that the people have not yet filled out an evacuation form so there is really nothing we can do.

And no, I don't think I am misreading what they said.

2. Sounds familiar.. they didn't have specific flight numbers and seat
numbers of the 9/11 hijackers either.. so even though they knew it was going to happen they couldn't do anything at all to try to stop it... not one thing.

5. "Some guy" on CNN
(sorry didn't catch his name) came on after Jamie McIntyre (sp) reported this from the pentagon, and said, "EVERYONE IN AMERICA KNOWS THAT THE WEST SIDE OF N.O. IS WHERE THE HELP IS NEEDED ---- EXACTLY"

11. and then they moved on to rebuilding businesses as if this meant nothing.

They deliberately left those people to die. We need to think about what their motive is and I don't think it is merely incompetence or indifference.

The media took one day for compassion and outrage for NO and today moved on?

6. Well, it's a 'local problem', right?
Isn't that what Bush said after the blackouts in 2003?

9. Bullshit
In an emergency such as this, the NG and FEMA should have been on their way to prepare for the worse.

But of course, assholes had a bulk of Louisiana's NG in Iraq, and Bush cut FEMA's budget (BTW-interesting that he should do that in the "War on Terra").

Red Cross stated over a couple of years ago that they would not set up shop in or around New Orleans because of the threat a "possible" hurricane in this area would pose for relief workers.

Yeah, leftists and their wacko drivel. We have only been saying this shit for decades now about Louisiana's wetlands. The whore media won't mention this of course.

America gets what it deserves.

12. Another "Cover your Brass" leadership failure
So rather than going out and pro-actively coordinating with the governors and mayors they're just sitting with their thumbs up their asses until someone gives them a call.

Screw "the Donald", this calls for a Patton: "You're fired! Major, you're in charge now. If this column isn't across the river in twenty minutes, I'll fire YOUR ass too!"
