"Compassionate conservatism" does not believe in doing things that do not do something to A) Enhance speculative incomes of the rich, or B) Enhance the political position of the right-wing. Emergency preparedness just DOES NOT fit the bill. And so the story unfolds.

8. wasn't the Super Dome . . . it was the Convention Center . . .

where there are 10 to 15 thousand with no help whatsoever . . . no National Guard, no cops, no FEMA, no Red Cross, no Salvation Army . . . and no water . . . the reporter said there were many bodies inside as well, and he witnessed the death of the baby . . .

A lot of people can't get even to the Superdome because of flooding so they've been going to the Convention Center, which is south of the Superdome. There is NOTHING for the people at the convention center - no drinking water or anything. People are dying.

You know, even after all of the outrages committed by Bush, this one is by far the worst. I'm just in a fucking fury that people are allowed to die where they stand. This is beyond a natural disaster, it's now murder!

13. Yesterday there was a 5 day old baby out on the highway

with the Mom and some siblings. The baby was extremely overheated. It took the reporter to flag down a cop to get help. I don't know where the cop took them but I thought about that itty bitty baby all night long.

Now to hear this just makes me sick.
