Where are the pictures of the white people in NO? I'm not trying to be

racist, but all the media pictures are of black people being evacuated. Thus the media seems to be playing the race card by implying the white people heeded the warnings and evacuated. This was pointed out to me by my RW neighbor who thinks only black people didn't evacuate because they're too stupid. We know there are economic reasons why many people couldn't evacuate, but many white people chose not to evacuate. Did they all make it to hotels and resorts?

Your neighbor obviously has no idea what it's like to be poor, not have a car, not being able to afford to get out of town.

If a population of a particular area is largely one racial group, or ehtnic group, whatever ... the odds are that the brunt of the victims are going to be from that group.

I do understand that POVERTY plays a huge role in the ability to evacuate

3. I saw some white people interviewed on TV

Their lives were as affected also. As someone mentioned, it's all about demographics, the people hurt the worst were those without the resources to evacuate, white, black, brown, and purple.
