CNN's Spellman on conditions in the Convention Center:


We've just gotten word that there are many, many dead bodies, and while they were there they even saw a baby die.




Evil useless fuck Chertoff took time out of his busy schedule promoting national preparednesss month on Fox to say this:


"The critical thing was to get people out of there before the disaster," he said on NBC's Today program. "Some people chose not to obey that order. That was a mistake on their part."




Lots of these people were poor. No cars. No credit cards. Nowhere to go. WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO?

I'm sure they believe that these people were poor because they didn't try hard enough to make their way in the world. Rich people just don't understand...the American Dream is dead. There's no more "pulling yourself up by the bootstraps" anymore. You have to have money to start with to make any money. If you start off screwed, most likely you'll end up screwed.

That's America today.

absolutely no attention, never mind help . . . no food and, more critically, no water . . . there are no authorities there at all -- no cops, no National Guard, no FEMA, no Red Cross, no Salvation Army, no one . . . and people are already dying in large numbers . . .

this is absolutely unforgivable negligence . . .

How many have have gone into labor? How many have delivered? With no water they must have been very dehydrated. What's been happening to them and their babies?

I thought about that this morning. Actually when I got into bed last night...a comfortable dry bed... I cried thinking about those people with no beds, no homes, no NOTHING!

I can't believe this is happening in 2005 in the United States. One would think that after 9/11/2001 we would be in excellent shape for handling disaster. Fuck you George Bush!

about a woman who swam for help for her young son. as she was swimming, she went into labor. she managed to find a hospital and give birth, but still doesn't know about her son :cry:

18. Can someone confirm that this is the Morial Conv. Center?
That place is massive and right along the Mississippi River (I have been there several times for conferences and trade shows).

If it is, why the hell are they not getting a boat of supplies or relief from the river? I still dont know why the helicopter soultion hasn't been used, but this whole thing is beyond belief.
