Even if they are being shot at by a handfull of thugs, they can't leave all those people to die out there.

If they are being shot at, then shoot back at the shooters! These are military copters, right?

But stopping the rescue cannot be an option.

at the helo. I do not think this is unreasonable. They have to find the shithead shooting at the helicopter, and then the flights can resume. The evacuation of the Superdome in New Orleans was suspended on Thursday after shots were reported fired at a military helicopter and arson fires broke out outside the arena.

No immediate injuries were reported.

9. I agree they need to find that fucker

but I just don't think it's fair to the thousands of others that they be left out to die. The National Guard is subjected to far more danger in Iraq than this mission would be.

As for the shooter: find him, convene a 10 minute trial and then dispose of him :grr:

10. Look, I have done HUMRELS

...and unless you are expecting violence, you do not go in there with weapons and body armor--certainly not in the US!!!!! You go in with fresh water and MRE's and a team of medical personnel. You wear soft hats, not helmets, and you HELP people.

This is not a cancellation, it is a suspension so that they can retool their approach with an awareness that they might encounter hostile fire.

No one shot at uniformed personnel after Hurricane Andrew--this is some new shit....and it ain't fun.
