Spinning Bush's Weak Response - FOREWARNING!
I am at work, so I can't listen to the radio or watch TV right now. Thus, I have no idea what the mouth breathers on FOX are saying, nor can I eavesdrop on whatever windbag right winger is ranting from a radio station right now. However, that being said, a number of people I talk to that are clearly right wing (note I did not call them friends) have all shot back at me with the EXACT same response, regarding how Bush is mishandling Katrina.

Essentially, they are all blaming it on all the liberals that have been bogging him down lately. With the Bolton confirmation and the Roberts confirmation and that damned Cindy Sheehan, he's running completely on empty. And THAT'S the reason that his speech last night was weak. Because he's been poisoned by the liberals in this country who are attacking him for doing God's work. . . I'd write more, but I am feeling pretty damn queasy today as it is.

So be prepared for this argument when you hear it later, because it's making the rounds over in Nutjob Land.

3. Bogged down?
Exactly when did he meet with Cindy Sheehan? And the when did he testify furiously in front of the senate to get Bolton in?

Bullshit.

5. Always best to counter with a question
So he has a hard time dealing with criticism?

His month of vacation wasn't enough?

It's hard work being a president. Is it maybe too hard for him?

8. That is a pretty weak excuse
which begs for the response...If that is all it takes to break his spirit, then he must not have been much of a leader to begin with.

"Presidentin' is such hard work"

10. Like Clinton trying to get Bin Laden
While the GOP was climbing up his colon over a consentual sexual affair? Like that?

And when he launched the cruise missles into Afghanistan (missing Bin Laden by, what was it? Six hours?) when the Republicans bitched and bitched that he was just trying to divert attention from the *crucial* issues? Like that?

Yea, to criticise Bush while he's on a month-long vacation, clearly puts too much pressure on him, and is bad for the nation. Why do we hate America?

12. I thought
1. Bush didn't pay attention to polls.
2. that Cindy has a right to express her views, but that he has to "get on with his life."
3. about Bolton? So many news cycles ago.
4. he was just on vacation, where he rode bikes and had bbqs.

So, yeah, this is the "libruhls fault."

makes perfect sense to me.

13. That's it? That's all they've got? They're saying he's not fit to be pres.
If he can't handle the job, he should resign.
