We have been planning a boating trip for this weekend for some time now. Before you flame me...I feel guilty for going on a vacation when there is so much suffering. We gave money to the Red Cross, we don't know what else to do.

I never thought I would here the word "only" right before 3 dollars and something for gas.

6. Your right.....what has gotten in to me?

I guess I should just tell my kids because people are dying in Iraq and in NO they shouldn't have the only 3 day vacation they have had in over a year. The fact that they emptied their piggy banks and gave all their allowance money they have saved to contribute to those "poor people" along with the $300 my husband and I donated. Maybe we could quit drinking water and eating food too. Then we could really empathize with these people.

4. We had a couple of trips planned this fall, one this weekend

Last night we made the decision to cancel those plans.
I don't need to go to the Ford Museum and I don't need to make a trip RIGHT NOW!
This is a crisis and we all need to cut back and conserve where we can.

I would fill the boat, but only to have the gas in a tank that I could siphon later if necessary

and you people can flame me too. i'm off to Florida tomorrow. yeah, i'll continue to grieve for these people and will be watching a LOT of the coverage.

planned this trip for months. NOT driving, flying. (PAID FOR MONTHS AGO. otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford it this weekend)

i, too, gave a LARGE (for us) donation last night. there isn't anything else we can do. they aren't letting people IN to the cities affected to help. frankly, more people isn't what they need.

don't chastize people for going about their plans. sitting on a message board all weekend doesn't help either. :eyes:
