Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 12:41 PM by formerrepuke
Out of curiosity I went to Focus on the Family's main web page to see what rescue resources they are offering. Well, here it is- At the top of the main page listed under "Helping Disaster Victims"

http://www.family.org/topics/A0035087.cfm

...and, folks if that isn't enough information for you to help out those in need from Hurricane Katrina, there's also an additional page of resources for you make a contribution.

**There! Don't you feel better now that you've helped?

1. sorry i just can't go there... I'd
probably destroy my computer.
Are they sending tracts? and bibles? to save their 'eternal souls'?

'What kind of father would give his son a stone when he asked for bread?'

2. They are offering comforting biblical passages and also selling cds
and books about 'why God allows such things'.. There is no direct link or any mention of any actual relief organization.

5. Oh yes
I'm sure this will help people who have lost everything. And possibly family members. :eyes: Dobson just can't bare to pull some money away from him and onto these people. And if you do buy the merchandise will he donate it to a foundation such as the Red Cross?

And i'm a person of faith. And have nothing but pity left for them.

3. Okay, I clicked the link
Help me out if I missed something, but is there a single link to something useful on that site? I don't know, maybe links to charitable organizations or something? I mean, I know they're whack-jobs, but they can't be serious...

6. There is a reason these groups dont encourage giving.
Thier 'flock' consists largely of people with a limited income who already give all thier discretionary money to enrich these organizations.

If these people all donated money to disaster relief, it would cut into thier funds significantly.

Helping Disaster Victims

When disaster strikes — whether in your neighborhood or halfway around the world — it's often hard to know where to turn or what to say. That's why we've collected the following articles and resources to help you pray for disaster victims, talk with children about tragedy, and more.

http://www.family.org/topics/A0035087.cfm

That's the first paragraph - resources to help you pray for disaster victims - nice touch guys.
