Why is the White House deliberately stalling from saving the people of NO?

Why are they so indifferent, "aloof" was a word used yesterday, even seemingly relaxed about it?

There's no profit in search and rescue ... especially when it's poor people that need to be rescued.

they were all in that dim, glowing half light, and they were all dressed in suits, and they all looked like a bunch of fricking actors. Clinton would have wearing clothes he could really work in, the room would have been full of staffers, there would have been coffee cups all over, phones, actual WORK being done.

of those who are being left to sink or swim in NO are very low income citizens, and if indeed there is a great number of them who have or will die because of the absence of the American emergency response, I intend to discover how many of them will be used as "A decrease in those on the welfare rolls" for benefit of this governing mafia.

This came to me as a wave of "knowing" that washed over me as Michael Chertoff started to speak.

It's partly a test, partly an opportunity to see how much they can get away with and make appropriate adjustments in their planning for the future, it's an opportunity to reduce some, shall we say, welfare rolls, it's an opportunity to let things get so bad some of us are clamoring for troops to "help," and a way to desensitize Americans to federal troops being involved, and perhaps the overturn of that nasty ole Posse Commitatus law. And who know, maybe more. We know Bush likes pain and suffering, he may not be the only one. We saw what Chertoff's "they made their bed, now they can lie in it" comment.

There's no reason not to drop water.

This is intentional. We need to watch very carefully what transpires from here.
