"pushing out pallets of water and juice "
sorry if this is a dupe but when reading this paragraph I almost chocked!

"At least seven bodies were scattered outside, and hungry people broke through the steel doors to a food service entrance and began pushing out pallets of water and juice and whatever else they could find."

ARE THEY TELLING ME THAT AT THE SUPERDOME THERE HAS BEEN WATER AND JUICE THERE THAT WASN'T BEING OFFERED TO THE REFUGEES?

The whole article is just chilling. If this won't bring down the insanity of the right wing Reagun/Bush Legacy that has ruined our country, then we are doomed!

3. I saw footage of something like this on MSNBC
but it was at the Convention Center which has been completely abandoned by the National Guard, police. The folks there have received NO relief supplies until a short time ago, when they dropped some supplies by helicopter.

4. I can easily believe it.

It's the typical behavior of authoritarian control freaks. "If we hand it all out, we won't have any left." It's a fear-based avoidance that short-circuits their cognition of what's right in front of them. It's what I think of as "the supply sargeant syndrome." You wouldn't believe how common it is. Any petty "boss" in an authoritarian organization will squirrel away the very goods he's charged with distributing. Why? Because he thinks his 'job' goes away if he doen't have STUFF to distribute. People have a strong tendancy, especially under stress, to preserve their own "rice bowl."

5. something is now wrong with the link....
only part of the story is appearing...

I went back to try to find out if it was the Superdome or the Convention Center where this was happening.

If it were the Convention Center and people had not been housed there then it would make more sense (just a little more however) that the supplies were still there. WOULDN'T SOMEONE HAVE FIGURED OUT THAT THERE WERE SUPPLIES TO BE HAD?
