Dean isn't calling for Bush* to resign either.
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 03:52 PM by LoZoccolo
You gonna saw "screw Dean" when he doesn't? Or if he says the same thing that Clinton did? Just curious.

I don't think Kucinich has said anything either.

I should add that I was a Dean supporter throughout much of the primaries...I just think that a lot of these anti-Clinton people wouldn't hold Dean to the same standard for some reason.

1. I say screw anyone who doesn't ask him to resign or doesn't at least deman
accountability. Bush called off the work on the levees and now people are dying. Why do we allow this to continue without saying anything? Look at the polls and emails! America wants accountability. why don't the Dems?

Give him time to find out the facts.
There's no point in accusing anyone until all the facts are *absolutely* straight. He MUST find out what - EXACTLY - failed here first, then he can let the accusations fly.

But I do have faith in Dean. He sent me the first email asking that I donate to the Red Cross.

Of course if he suddenly turns rah-rah about Bush I'll be shocked and sickened.

2. Screw Dean
I am ALWAYS up for saying that. He is worthless.

Meanwhile, I would rather concentrate my energy on the PEOPLE of the Gulf Coast, and not be preoccupied on an unhealthy level with what Clinton said.

37. Kind of touchy, no? The anger at Clinton is based on his claiming no one
could have forseen the catastrophe in New Orleans. This is pretty obviously untrue and said to defend an Administration that doesn't deserve defending. And asking Dean your question would hardly show how progressive we are, but then again, you're not trying to make sense here, are you?

28. EVERYONE in New Orleans *knew* this exact same scenario
could, and sooner or later would happen!

Those who claim, "Who' da thunk it?" are outright liars.

Again, it was common knowledge that NO was below sea level and that the risk was always there from a "direct hit" by a hurricane.

and a few emails and a web page aren't enough. That's lame... really lame.

He should get on the fucking news, or get down there with waders and start helping people. THAT would be something.

10. LoZoccolo....
Both Kucinich and Dean have more spine than that worthless POS president who was playing in California the night so many Americans were drowning in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Neither Dean nor Kucinich have control over FEMA. Maybe you should contact George Bush.

But I do realize now that this thread is pointed not at people critisizing his comments, but at those people calling for every Democrat to storm the whitehouse, so consider my objection withdrawn.

24. Clinton should not have been political...
...but he also should have kept his mouth shut instead of once again undercutting any criticism of Bush.

He should have stayed "on message" about the need to help people, without reprising his "I support the Iraq War" Bush apologist number again either.

27. Bush* undercuts the harsh elements of the right wing all the time.
Right before the war he said that the protesters had a right to protest, at the same time Michael Savage was saying that we should be put in prison camps, and Bill O'Reilly was implying we were traitors. Didn't really undercut a thing.

They know how to work public opinion...we need to learn.

39. Where I disagree with you is this...
You areabsolutely correct that Clinton should not have second-guessed Bush or criticized him (at this point).

However there is a difference between that and going out of his way to let Bush off the hook, and support the lie that "no one could have foreseen what happened."

Anyone watching TV, listening to the radio or reading trhe papers could foresee what was about to happen.

Clinton should have stuck to the need to pull together to resolve the immediate crisis.
