True then and true now, and to think I slapped down $30 for his book.

To think how many times I defended him, I was long ago sick of them covering for Bush, but never again.

From here on out Democrats that defend Clinton and his whoring are on ignore.

You people are so consumed with hatred of Bush that any Democrat who does not display the same is suddenly one of them...get your head out of your ass.

Bush deserves criticism, and from us it is fine. It is not Clinton's place to criticize him, particularly not now.

The issue here is the crisis in the south, not hatred for Bush!

24. You know I kinda understand it...
Bush has so consistently lied, and so consistently fucked up everything he has tried, I understand the feeling people have toward him. And I understand the gut emotion that occurs when people on our side do not always seem to share the same visceral feelings about him. But, in a situation like this, we need to be mature enough to set that aside temporarily to help people in crisis.

That Bush has totally messed this up is obvious, and any support he received from Clinton today will make no diffrence. Meanwhile, Clinton, by accepting the job Bush gave him not only is doing his patriotic duty, but he is making Bush look all that much more incompetent. He again, needs to bring Clinton in to do what he is incapable of!!!

19. Well said.
Sometimes I wonder if there is anything that can trump hatred for Bush. And really, what's the point? He's never running for office again, and is essentially finished as a President. I think it's time focus on performing well in the 2006 elections, and to look toward what happens after he leaves office. What's happening now reminds me of the nonsensical hatred Republicans felt toward Clinton during his second term.

He always has a purpose for what he does or says that is more than meets the eye. I can suffer the short-term discomfort for the long-term gain. He is the master politician. I suppose since he doesn't offer soundbites or pandering red meat, it is hard for some to get the underlying purpose.

Paid $20 for the book, got it from the right bookstore, and I liked it.

been known for years, due to FEMA reports. A similar FEMA report done by Bush Admin says the same thing. Heard this on Randi Rhodes show. Sidney worked for Clinton. Clinton is saying no one could have for seen the flood coming in his defense of Bush today. Who is liar? Sidney or Clinton. What is really happening: Bush is falling apart and Clinton knows it and he also saw that poll in the Washington Post that says Democrats want a leader with balls or with gumption. So if a Democrat emerged that would challenge Bush and smoke the Republicans- Hillary would be history. That person would grab the nomination, not Hillary. So to put out this fire before it starts Clinton goes to Bush and says your daddy and I know you are fucked let us help again. Hillary will only challenge Bush on the Wilma issues- (social liberal stuff).

His job is to raise enormous amounts of money to rebuild New orleans, and to help it's citizens get back on their feet.

By seeming to criticize Bush, while he was on TV with him , in the Oval office, with Bush practically begging Clinton to help, would have been the story. And it most assuredly would have hindered his fundraising efforts!!

If you were in his shoes.. would you use that moment and time to bash jr? Part of the success he will have getting the help we need is to play some politics. It sucks, but it's true.

Also, it's a long time tradition that former presidents hold their tongues in attacking the one in office. I don't like that either but Clinton is a statesman and will abide by that.
