So where are the TV preachers who have made so much money off of the American public? Why aren't they donating? They have personal fortunes made by fleecing the gullible. How about doing something really Christian and GIVING BIG BUCKS to the relief effort in NOLA?

4. Tony Perkins, Gary Bauer will be TAKING IN money!
Tony Perkins, Gary Bauer to rake in Fed. Relief $$ ??? (Katrina)

This morn, WBRZ in Baton Rouge was touting a new organization, ShareYourHome.org. Please go to the website, and click on "press releases" for a pdf doc that says the following:

"Billie Brown of Franklin, Louisiana announced formation of a charitable organization dedicated to assist families displaced by Katrina to find temporary housing.

snip

Although the organization is less than 24 hours old, it is already being supported by state Rep. Gary Beard (R-LA), Louisiana native and President of Family Research Council Tony Perkins, Campaign for Working Families Gary Bauer, and the Republican Party of Louisiana."

This needs to publicized...I'm sure these guys are being "charitable" for the fed relief $$$ involved. While the idea is great, I sure don't trust the people involved...there will be SO much federal relief money floating around, so am wondering just what the motive is from Bauer and Perkins.

6. No no no--FROM THEIR OWN PRIVATE FORTUNES
Not more money from people who don't have it. Wonder how much of that money will go to the rescue effort and how much will go into their own private jets...

8. Robertson is only worth $200 million to $1 billion. Hardly enough
to allow him to donate. Maybe if the Intelligent Designer were more generous to him, he could afford to be more generous to those in need.

http://www.dkosopedia.com/index.php/Pat_Robertson

<edit>

Robertson's net worth is between $200 million and $1 billion dollars according to the 2002 book The Best Democracy Money Can Buy by Greg Palast. Through his ostensibly charitable organization, Operation Blessing International, Robertson claims to have spent $1.2 million bringing aid to refugees in Rwanda. His critics, such as Palast, however showed that the money was actually spent to bring heavy equipment for Robertson's African Development Corporation, a diamond mining operation.

10. $200 million at the low end--how 'bout 1 or 2 of those million for
people who really need it. Remember the rich young man, Pat? Give all things you have and come and follow me. (THat's in the Gospel, not the Wall Street Journal.)
