Victory for drunken gun-toters.
A-B drops support of Holden over guns

Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc., the top corporate player in Missouri politics, is no longer backing Gov. Bob Holden - in large part because of their differences over concealed weapons.

Republican and Democratic sources say the brewery's decision not to support the governor's re-election next year is highly unusual in light of its long-standing reputation as a donor which gives generously to both parties and their candidates, regardless of their views.

Before Holden vetoed the bill last summer, sources say, a brewery lobbyist showed up at the governor's office to tell him that such action would end the long-standing support he'd enjoyed from Anheuser-Busch and its executives. Holden confirmed that position later in phone conversations with Anheuser-Busch Cos. Chairman August A. Busch III and corporate group vice president Stephen K. Lambright, sources said.

1. Remember
This issue was alrready presented to Missouri voters by referendum, complete with millions of dollars worth of idiotic and dishonest propaganda from the gun lobby.....and Missouri voters turned it down.

4. Yep, Colorado did the same thing.
And the pukie Legislature fucked us over. They've done it time after time after time.

Citizens passed a constitutional amendment which limited campaign spending last year, and one part of the amendment exempted newspapers. The pukies redefined newspapers to be any damned flier that anyone puts out anytime.

6. The people's will means nothing
all that matters is that the rich white men have their toys, even if their toys kill...and kill...and kill...

14. I don't know where you are from but...
...in Michigan the rich white men were able to get concealed weapons permits prior to Michigan becoming a shall issue state. Now even a poor black man can get a permit, as long as he has a clean record.

and more people of color die.
That's a fact, Jack.

Go play with your toys.

that passed that anti-gay state constitutional amendment?

Stunning show of the brainpower of that electorate . . .

Sorry about the bluntness, but just because the majority of Britney Spears-listeners and The Batchelor-watchers want something, doesn't necessarily make what they want right.

2. Anhoosier Busch
is a Republican company. August Busch the third (turd) is a right wing Republican. Their whole family is like "white trash wins lottery." August Busch IV killed a girl in Arizona when he got drunk and flipped his Corvette. Another Busch knocked up a stripper and was working at a zoo earning minimum wage and living off his $200,000 trust fund.

Though A-B does give money to one Dem--Richard Gephardt, since he is their Congressman. A-B's corporate headquarters is in St. Louis.

7. From the article:

"Added Mike Kelley, spokesman for the Missouri Democratic Party, "Anheuser-Busch has been a strong supporter of the Missouri Democratic Party and Democratic candidates, in the past and present." "

8. Dont cloud minds with such hoooey
Anheuser-Busch decided not to back him because they disagreed with him. Dont you see how this is their fault for not toting the anti-gun platform?

11. Busch Disagrees
The only reason Busch "disagrees" with Holden is so they can boost gun-totin redneck beer sales. Buy BUSCH, It's the Choice of Concealed Weapon Carriers Everywhere!

21. jeez
Why would a company that peddles booze actually encourage concealed weapons? So likkered-up louts can run around shooting up Branson?

I mean, this is nuts, really nuts.

23. The answer is obvious
We need more empty cans so we can use them as targets. Might as well be empty Busch cans. ;)
