God, I get so furious when that word is thrown around. You make it worthless by using it in this context. THIS IS MASS MURDER.

Take a look at the people. It is NOT genocide.

8. The American Heritage Dictionary definition

Genocide:The systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.

Except for the part about it being systematic and planned, it's pretty damn close.

As you note yourself, it fails two out of three conditions of the definition, and as nothing approaching the entirity of a national, racial, politoical or ethnic group is involved, that would seem to clinch the matter, if attention is to be paid to the actual meaning of the word,,,,

Hey, he's the bad guy. Let's send everyone available over there and kill the rest of the Iraqi people,while telling our own poor citizens to go pound sand if they need help.

Had this catastrophe happened only last year, during the campaign, they would have stood a better chance of getting that help they need.

_Bush would have had Senator Mary Landrieu's opponent, Suzanne Terrell, hand over large chunks of change to the mayor of New Orleans, with good photo ops.
