Black and White....ALL are Devastated with Katrina!

While the huge group of folks focused on in NO is being depicted on CNN as "poor and black" we know that THOUSANDS have been stranded in Hotels and the Convention Centers and they aren't all "native NOrleaners."

New Orleans is 67% African-Americans...but that's why folks LOVED to VISIT IT. The culture, the Music the FOOD! That "white folks" came to NO BECAUSE of all that...the great mix of heritage..French/Cajun/African-American and just plain old former Plantation folks and White Folks like Cokie Roberts Mother who lived in Glory in her Downtown NO's Residence with her "history & memorabilia" as a "Grand Dame" of the "Old South" while her daughter hob nobbed in DC and her Son is a "lawyer Lobbyist" and her daughter who died of "malignant melanoma" was the Mayor of Princeton, NJ. Her daughter Cokie married a journalist and her live was very promising...but I wonder how Cokie might feel now if her Mom is feeble and wanted to stay in New Orleans ...because her family photo's and heritage was more important to her than her "kids" who allied themselves with George Bush.

Cokie's Mom lost her Hubbie in Alaska...and after that the rebel supposed Dem Kids toned down their criticism of the Repugs...but I wonder what happened to Cokie's Mom...where she is...and how she as an old 20th Century person feels about this. :shrug:

Cokie's father was Hale Bogg's ...the House Majority Leader...he was the "Tom DeLay" of his era...EXCEPT he was a Democrat.
