8. Other
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 06:21 PM by Nimrod
I'd say "dismaying and confusing" right at this very moment. A man I grew to admire enormously over eight years seems to have more or less sold out. I've been scratching my head for awhile now. It's just sort of shocking to me that for years I longed to meet the man just so I could shake his hand, and now I want to meet the man just to say "Uh... dude... what the screaming fuck happened to you?"

On a related but separate point, it bugs me that the * dynasty could fund the complete rebuilding of New Orleans by canceling two dinner parties and one trip to Martha's Vineyard. But naw, much better to hit ME up for cash, right?

13. I am trying to figure out their logic, too
A man in a position to be able to make an enormous difference should do nothing because he must do it in cooperation with the Bush family?

That's thinking on their level.

15. That's not thinking at all, it is the lowest form of political bile.
To put your own political views before the sufferings of the people in NO is pathetic. Some people here have no soul.

Clinton is doing the most he can do for the people who need it NOW!

18. What, exactly,
is he "doing"?

Tell me how those guys appearing raises money?

Maybe if they wrote some seven-figure checks, as both of them could, that would help, but they're not "doing" a damn thing except taking the heat off Fuckface in the White House.

Note that he wasn't so quick to ask his father about invading Iraq, was he? But, he sure drags him out when he's fucked up so badly, he's beyond redemption. And Clinton goes along with it because he's become a media whore.

29. Cool it
I hate no one, so relax and calm down.

Then, rationally and without getting all worked up, tell me exactly how "He is helping to raise money for people who are in desperate need."

That would be enormously interesting.

Your turn, and try not to flip out.

14. I'm a Clinton admirer
Have been for a long time. BUT I'd really like to know how much Clinton, Kerry, and ESPECIALLY the * dynasty have contributed, cash-wise. I guarantee they're all wealthy beyond MY levels of Top-Ramen comprehension and could give much more aid than I could in a lifetime and they wouldn't even dent their lunch budgets.

17. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in my fellow DUers
President Clinton is once again showing that he is a true public servant. He is not an elected official anymore, and is not even quite a year into recovering from 2 heart surgeries. He could very well be out on a golf course, acting like he doesn't have a care in the world.

Yet, he has once agreed to serve his country, by helping to raise money for those affected by the hurricane.

Yet, because he is doing it with a Republican former President, you all are pissing all over him. It's just unbelievable.

How about "Thank you President Clinton for continuing to be the class act that you are." How about "Thank you President Clinton for continuing to remind us of our obligation to the least among us."

19. Just tell me
Just tell me what he is "doing."

Do you honestly think there are people in this country who don't know that something happened somewhere around New Orleans?

Please.

What kind of PR maven doesn't know that diversion is the name of this game?

Class act, my ass. The man's a craven whore who let me down, let the whole country down, and panders to whomever has the power. He is, after all, the man who came up with "Don't ask, don't tell," and we all know how well that worked. And let's not forget his signing into law the Defense of Marriage Act, which allows states NOT to recognize legal gay marriages performed in states that might one day recognize such marriages.

Some class act. He's nothing but a shill for a criminal in the White House.

20. Yeah. like when he flew back to Ground Zero...
And looked into the camera, and said with a quavering voice, "I could've got him (bin Laden)..."

That's when I knew why BushCo would want Clinton to go before Bush. To deceive and misinform the left.

That's when I knew Clinton was in on the Big Lie.

I lost any respect I had for him after that.

And I kept thinking...Mena, Arkansas...

The bastard. Whether he was compromised or not - he turned his back on the truth and his country.

23. The problem with Clinton
I agree totally with those who say this is not the time for Democrats to be politiking by bashing Bush during this crisis. And I also agree that Clinton is doing something good by helpinhg to raise funds.

However, Clinton is not simply "doing the right thing" in this. He is giving Bush political cover in a way that is more pro-Bush than politically neutral. In the CNN interview, he was defending Bush more forcefully than Bush Sr was.

Clinton has gotten too cozy with the Repubs. If that's his chouice fine. But he anmd Hillary ought not to infect the Democratic Partry with their collanorationist tendencies.

No more. No less.

Too much experience on his part for the world to see.

Yes, he did some good. But his recent months' (or years') worth of chumming up to the family that helped make a pointlessly impeached ass out of his horny self has got to be the greatest insult to ANYONE who votes/voted "Democrat".

Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:18 AM by KT2000
He is the 800 pound gorilla in the room in Democratic party politics. He has power but look how he is using it - he should be working for the AMERICAN PEOPLE not the warmonger repub party!
How can he do this.

We need an opposition party - he needs to step aside.
