Would Richard Perle know Mrs. Wilson's CIA status?

Apparently there is some suspicion that Richard Perle told Cliff May about Valerie Plame's CIA connection.

My question: would Perle have that information? We know he gets top secret info, and we know he has tentacles everywhere.

May wrote: "On July 14, Robert Novak wrote a column in the Post and other newspapers naming Mr. Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a CIA operative.

That wasn't news to me. I had been told that � but not by anyone working in the White House. Rather, I learned it from someone who formerly worked in the government and he mentioned it in an offhanded manner, leading me to infer it was something that insiders were well aware of."

1. Who knows...

From what we've already heard so far, it sounds like the Bush White House has very lax security procedures.

These guys are so arrogant, it wouldn't surprise me if they just didn't pay any mind to security compartmentalization procedures in regards to handling classified info.

Karl Rove
Richard Perle
