I helped kill American soldiers in Iraq!

I helped murder families in Colombia.

It was just innocent fun.

I helped kidnap people's dads.

Hey, just some harmless fun.

I helped kids learn how to kill.

I was just having some fun ya know.

I helped kill a policeman.

I was just having fun.

I helped a bomber get a fake passport.

All the kids do it.

I helped kill a judge.

I helped blow up buildings.

My life, My body.

Drug money supports terror.

If you buy drugs, you might too.

Voiceover: It's not like I was hurting anybody else.

Title on black: http://theantidrug.com

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Rush supports terrorism! Why does Rush hate America?

2. This is crap
There is no more of a link of drugs to terrorism than any other industry. The oil industry is much more strongly linked to terrorism. Drugs are linked to domestic crime because they are illegal.

5. It's satire.

I tried to find a few quotes where Rush discusses/agrees with the campaign, but I couldn't find it quickly. I work overseas and receive American Forces Network (AFN) broadcasts and they show public service announcements instead of commercials. I've seen this ad a 100 times, so it was a natural connection.

13. On the one hand it's satire and good
On the other hand drugs such as cocaine and the heroin trade in Afghanistan and elsewhere do indeed funnel money into the small arms trade which fuels the wars of other nations to poor to do it with the kind of heavy equipment and high tech that we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on.

Please check the facts on that. Not all claims of drugs sponsoring terrorism are valid and it is sensational but unfortunately, there is a kernel of truth to it.

That is why if drugs were legalized, there would be less of an opportunity for this to occur. The money would not flow through the black market so easily.

6. I love the premise underlying those ads...
Let's see, the government made drugs illegal. This criminalization caused cartels to spring up instead of regular businesses. By forcing citizens to buy drugs from cartels rather than responsible businesses, some money goes to unsavory activities. It's all the fault of the citizens who buy drugs, not the government that set the stage for the cartels to spring up in the first place!

The ONDCP is one of the worst expenditures of public funds in the entire government.

8. Perhaps not, but you have to wonder..............
How does someone get their hands on 4500 doses of Oxy-Contin? This is supposed to be an extremely controlled drug. I understand Heroin and Coke is uncontrolled, but how does the market for Oxy-Contin exist?

This is quite interesting and a story unto itself, I think.
