Pittsburghers aren't sorry to see Rush go (Scaife Paper)
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/pmupdate/s_157964.html

Note to Rush Limbaugh: Many Pittsburghers aren't going to miss you from ESPN's "NFL Sunday Countdown" television show.

<snip>

A quick poll this morning on the North Side indicated that people -- even if they are Rush fans -- don't give a hoot if the conservative radio personality hangs up his short-lived sports commentary career on ESPN.

"I like what he does on his radio and show, but I'm not looking for that in football," said Mark Oresic, 35, of Plum.

<snip>

Mike Bowie, 51, also said Rush has no place in sports, calling him a racist.

The North Sider said he once saw a child at a Pirates game holding a Rush Limbaugh book.

"Baseball is a lovely thing and here's this child holding a Rush Limbaugh book. ... It's like having the devil at church," Bowie said.

And this Pittsburgher would love to see him off KDKA radio locally.

3. North Side...........:)
I can't imagine too many Rush fans there. Unless things have changed in the last 30 years that ain't Rush's kind of hood.

But I expect they were probably asking questions around PNC Park (the Pirates baseball field) and maybe in the parking lots of Heinz Field where commuters park for the day. In fact that had to be it since a couple of the people were from outside the metro area.

5. For a Pittsburgher it doesn't matter who does the TV announcement of games
because the proper way to watch the game is to mute the TV and put the local radio announcer Myron Cope on the radio.

6. If Limbaugh's show tanks, who will replace Limbaugh on KDKA? O'Reilly?
Edited on Thu Oct-02-03 05:07 PM by The Night Owl
Of course, I think KDKA should put Chris Moore in Limbaugh's time slot, but KDKA is way too conservative to do that.

Chris Moore rocks!

So glad the baseball season is over. I hate the fact that baseball coverage always preempts Moore's show. No offense, baseball fans!
