1. I was expecting someone to drop when Clark came in--but not him!
Edited on Thu Oct-02-03 06:22 PM by tjdee
Aww man.
Though, I've grown quite accustomed to all 10 of them, hate to see one go.

And Graham is such a nice guy.

4. Damn
Down to nine now. Bound to happen till we get down to one guy...but still sad to see them go. Sigh. Hope he goes for the Senate.

2. Hopefully he's run for senate!
We need that seat, absolutely. Sen. Graham's a great guy and will work as a part of the majority very well--but for us to get that majority, we need him to run!

7. We need him
I am sorry to see him leave the race, but I dearly hope and pray that he will run for re-election; we need his character, integrity, wisdom and experience in the Senate.

17. It's probably between Dean, Clark, and Edwards
They were my 2nd tier. One of them will likely be my choice, but I've been thinking about this for several weeks now and haven't been able to decide between them.

Time to do some heavier research, I guess.

He should remain in the Senate. Although more moderate than I am, he's a good man and a good Democrat.

I liked him, too...holding his policy booklet at the debate. But he just didn't rouse that much interest. Too bad.

29. Great VP ? Perhaps. Lousy VP candidate? Most definitely.
His performance thus far during the campaign goes a long way towards explaining why he was passed over for VP three times.

And frankly, I'm not even sure that adding Graham to the ticket in 2004 could guarantee Florida's electoral votes. It might make more sense to have him run for the Senate and do some kind of coordinated campaign, with Graham's organization working to turn out voters for both races. I also don't think Graham would win in a walk were he to run again, since he can no longer count on the same level of cross-over support from Republicans and GOP-leaning independents that he's enjoyed in the past.

26. It doesn't have anything to do with Clark entering the race
Graham's candidacy was going no-where. He is a real nice guy, but a bit wifty, I think. Keeping minute by minute journals, including things about when he takes a leak is a tad odd.

But I like the guy. He is one of the "real" politicos. He'd make a good VP. We could take Florida.

Look or Liberman to drop out next.

Yes, he hasn't offically but he is not going to be in the next debate and is shutting down his offices.

37. I *hate* to use FAUX as a source,
but since others have said that's where they got it, here's their story. They say that Graham is going to have a press conference tomorrow to announce it.

I have known more than a few FAUX stories to be wrong, though.

32. Tant mieux
He was one of the more conservative candidates. I thought he shined in the FOX debate, but I can't get over his voting record - Patriot Act - and his push for war against Syria and his embarrassing C-SPAN covered meeting with the Syrian foreign minister.

It's good that he's out because it's one moderate less, but I'll miss him a little.

40. Don't know about "moderate," but he voted against the Iraq Resolution
He voted against Chimpy's tax cut, and he voted against Ashcroft's appointment.

I didn't know anything about Graham until his run for president, and I must say, I have come to like, admire, and respect the man. He is definitely an asset to the Democratic Party.
