Notice that Bush is not giving public support to Schwarzenegger
First of all Bush's approval ratings are in the low 40's in California, so his campaigning there would be a liability. At the same time, I'm not so sure the White House wants to be associated with a man who 1) is a possible Nazi sympathizer, as it is well known the Karl Rove wants to up the Bush percentage of Jewish voters, 2) Schwarzenegger is not well liked by the religious right, whom Bush cannot afford to alienate, 3) there is no evidence that a Schwarzenegger victory would at all improve Bush's chances in California.

Don't expect Bush to make a campaign stop in California.

1. hell, the entire calif recall thing and bringing arnold in
Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 05:49 AM by E_Zapata
AND bringing arnold down.....

Could all be a Rove diversionary tactic.

I can see Rove saying: well, if we don't need a diversion come fall 2003, we can make sure Arnold wins; but if we do need some big headlines to hide our bad news, we can always unleash the facts about Arnold. He isn't really a repub anyways, and if he won, we'd have kennedys all over the white house lawn. It's a win-win anyway you look at it. Let Arn win; take him out. no diff.

Who knows anything about who is behind what in this country today?
