my letter to Speaker Hastert. Should I send it?
Speaker Hastert,

The more I read in the news or see on the television the more I am appalled.
∑ Aid from 24 nations, friendly or not, has been turned down.
∑ President Bush Visits Arizona and San Diego, makes no comments for two days.
∑ FEMA didn’t know there were people in the Convention Center in New Orleans.
∑ Busses diverted to the Hyatt Regency, picking up guests and their LUGGAGE before getting to folks trapped in the Superdome for five days.
∑ Aid from Chicago rejected.
∑ People in the Convention Center told at GUNPOINT that they could not leave.
∑ People also told they could not leave the city of New Orleans!
∑ Bush taking photo opportunities surrounded by National Guardsmen and their vehicles, preventing them from actually helping people.
∑ Reporters from FOX NEWS, generally accused of being too soft with this administration calling the administration out on their lies.
∑ No sign or word of Vice-President Cheney.
∑ Papers needed to deploy the National Guard did not come from Washington until late THURSDAY!
∑ Red Cross ordered not to enter NOLA by the National Guard.
∑ Geraldo Revera and Shepard Smith need to BEG for the people to get help; Crying and begging on national television.
∑ Halliburton hired for storm clean-up. The same people overcharging us in Iraq.
∑ Gas prices steadily rise 85 cents in one day.
∑ Questions posed in the press; wondering if the aid and support had been suppressed until Bush arrived, allowing for a grander entrance.

I am amazed, angry, stunned, saddened, shocked and disgusted! This is not an economically ravage country in South East Asia. Not Indonesia, Thailand, or Sri Lanka.
This is the United States of America. This is the greatest country in history. This is how it treats its citizens?
President Bush is obviously not fit for the task. VP Cheney is nowhere to be found. As the third in line for the leadership of this great nation, I beg you, no, I INSIST that you demand the immediate resignation of President Bush, Vice-President Cheney and their cabinet.
Take over.
Show the world that the USA actually cares for and takes care of its citizens. Show the world that the USA can have a leader who can put politics, policies, and photo opportunities behind him when a crisis arises, and respond with compassion.

Do the right thing, Mr. Speaker. The American people expect nothing less.

1. Absolutely! And send it to your local paper, too. Well done!

Although I have to add that the idea of Hastert in charge doesn't exactly excite me. He's just as bad as Cheney and Bush, ideologically. He's also dumber than Cheney, and possibly almost as dumb as Bush.

8. Yes he is the one who said NOLA should not be rebuilt...(at least not for
the poor 'refugees' I'd imagine).

10. I don't expect him to react well
I also don't see the American people moving further down the food chain past number three to find an immediate replacement.

Hastert. Hastert is a criminal also according to so many reports of bribery....He wanted NO to not be rebuilt until he heard of the money.

12. I would but then I have nothing to lose, so I can afford to be
in their face. However, if you feel that you aren't ready yet to have some possible retaliation thrown your way, I would tone it down. Also, if we do manage to get Bush/Cheney impeached, he may be our next President.

13. can we wait until 2006?
Hope the dems take the house?
Hope they grow a pair and impeach?
Hope he "lets" them?
Hope we aren't in another war by then, with more funds diverted from the socio-economic structure to God-Knows-Where?

I cannot put my faith in all the cards falling into place in the next year. Citizens are dying. More every day. They must be stopped first. Then we can deal with assclown #2.

18. No, but if it would cause you hardship, remember a lot of
us are taking up the gauntlet because we don't have family or fortune to worry about.

15. No worry Cleita, I harangue the heck out of
Asshurt, Senslessbreeder, scumtorum and others weekly and I'm still fine!

Hey, who's at the door? Com

Seriously though, I really believe that they couldn't care less about us. scumtorum sends form letters sounding as if I support him even after I send him a letter telling him he is going to be fired next year.

17. I know without a doubt that they intercepted my tax return, causing
it to be late and me to get a fine. I fought the IRS and found out the truth and I was able to prove that it was mailed before the due date. Assholes. Just be prepared for stuff like this. They are doing all this behind the scenes under the Patriot Act and it's legal, but they weren't very smart about this. I don't think it's because of DU but because I sign a lot of petitions and write a lot of critical letters and emails to my elected representatives and anyone else who pisses me off at the time.

20. I've had my mail opened, but guess I just quit
fearing them finally last year. I will not be silenced and write LTTE , etc. being quite vocal. A friend told me my phone is/was tapped. He would know.

I wasn't making fun of you, so very sorry if it came off like that. I am just tired of being afraid. I was hoping to make you laugh. It sounds as if you've had a time from it. Hang in there Cleita, we will kick their butts to the Hague if possible.

14. That Cockroach Hastert
is nothing but a RW stooge, and he is the one who said New Orleans shouldn't be rebuilt. Might as well have Bush to take the hit in the '06 and '08 elections.

16. Yes send call kick down their doors!
We need to call the rebukes and make their staff blood boil they are not sensitive at all to this situation.

I called Hasert's office talked to some guy.

I was talking about how horrible the people dying was and said the f word. Shit we all can't have their perfect aristo-stick-up-my-ass English dialect. He asked me not to use profanity; snap!

That was a mistake for him to try, disarming me by asking me to step into line; dumb fucker.

"You have to be kidding me." I said, I am seething at this point keeping my self from really letting go. "You've got to be fricken kidding me people are fucking dying and you’re worried about my language. They just talked about babies dying on TV only because they didn’t get sustenance" Welling tears pissed off seething

Said something about that this was bullshit...

I ranted about the funds cut...

I said that we the people will be bringing accountability.

He raised his voice a bit in anger, stupid move....

I am now yelling at him...

“Oh accountability is coming; we the people are going to bring it.”

Clicking a button is not as satisfying as slamming the phone down.

My wife poked her head around the corner, “What the hell happened with that?”

This was Friday.

19. it's very good.
i did cringe a bit at the "take over" language. i think * took over in 2000. take overs don't bode well for this country. so, i think it would be better to say, "kindly and courageously assist us in achieving a lawful, constitutional and orderly transition to competency so that we the people may have confidence in government once again. the risk to our country is too great to allow this to continue."

something like that.
