2. Someone on TV said no one will ever forget what happened at those places
I don't remember who...maybe on MSNBC

But it seemed to me that it would be tough to go to a football game at the superdome without thinking about it.

I can see it being demolished after this or even made into a dedication for the victims or something.

3. It saved a lot of lives.
I'm not offering an opinion of what transpired after the hurricane hit, but how many are still alive that might have died elsewhere?

7. The Superdome should have never been opened as a shelter
except as a last resort right before and then after the storm hit. The Red Cross and the Emergency folks had found that their was no safe shelter, including the Superdome if a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane hit NO. It was a crime to tell people that the Superdome would be a safe shelter.

8. They're lucky as hell it weakened. Cat 5 would have destroyed that place.
See holes in roof. Now add 60 MPH in wind or so.

9. That was what I feared
the Dome was very close to becoming hell on earth during the storm. The roof did start to come apart, if the eye had passed over NO or if the storm had stayed a Cat 5 much of the roof would have come off.

5. It did save lives although the suffering there is imbeded everywhere....
still it's a monument to what we should never forget. That such suffering could have happened here in America...when we were told...to belive...we were safe.

It shouldn't be wrecked...but stand as a monument. And no sports "hero's" should be allowed to play there again...it should be left with testimony that we here in America are no better than anyone else on this planet. We shouldn't forget that. And we needed the reminder...as awful as it was to those who had to remind us of what we are...and in the end...who we are when the might and power takes hold of our "rulers" ...none of us is "Safe." :-( When it all comes down to survival...it's the mighty and the powerful and the clever who spend their lives cultivating the mighty and powerful...who cause so many to suffer.
