Has Anyone Seen What Is Up With The Prison Uprising In NOLA?
Earlier in the week they were reporting a prison guard and his family who were hiding out from the storm in the prison were taken hostage in some sort of riot/uprising. I heard a lot about it for the first day or two. Has anyone heard anything lately?

What about the other prisoners that were in the overpass? They were showing a large group of them that had fled the prison and were being held in an overpass. Any news on this?

I am wondering if they are rescuing the prisoners or if they are getting left behind. I doubt that they are considered high priority. Even those folks have rights. Sadly, I doubt that anyone is rushing to deal with them.

1. I heard something about a full prison break, but not much after that.
Probably the worst of the violence and such was related to that.

2. So many people are still stranded on the highways and on roofs in NO
and the media focus only on a couple of symbolic points.

Contrarely to the good news in some media, this is far from being finished, not even in NO.

The main reason they evacuated the SuperDome is because of the risk of cholera.

3. Heard today all prisoners successfully evacuated.
Sometime this afternoon. They've been sent to several prisons around the country, or (I think they said) set up in a special camp. Heard nothing all week about a prison uprising. Also...according to a report I heard earlier in the week, the prisoners were taken to the overpass by prison officials to get them away from the flood.

5. Why didn't they just open the gates and turn them loose? Like Iraq.
Surely they wouldn't just leave Americans locked in cells to drown. I don't think that is a part of anyones sentence there. Has Texas Judge Ellen Morphelonius (sp?) moved to NOLA? I sentence you to be raped, beaten, and drowned at the NOLA penetentary.... and you probably thought Judge Judy was a bitch.

Maybe Bush is just having a Karla Faye Tucker flashback? Jesus changed my life. "Oh please don't kill me!" "Bwahahahahaha!"
Help I'm drowning! What a wicked world! What a wicked world!

Ooooookay. Go get the broom. It's time to clean out the White House. ;)
