2. You know, that is ghastly...but at least maybe it will help with the body
count, which we know * and co. will want to hide.

This is horrendous.

4. I'll bet all mainstream photos are banned
A PNACracy won't allow them.

16. Are any reporters left in New Orleans to take pictures?
I heard they all were moved out to the airport. How will we know when places are really evacuated? How will we know how many bodies there are?

6. better than letting them float off or get eaten by alligators.
Better to keep them in 1 place. It is a catastrophe.

10. No doubt this was done by caring neighbors or volunteers....
out of deep respect. I heard that the rescuers have remained focused on the living, and not the dead.

13. I agree.
Doing this will make it possible to find bodies that would have just flowed with the water to places where they would not be found.

11. I simply cannot IMAGINE how foul that place must be by now.
The stench must be overwhelming. The heat alone is stiffling, but mixing in the stench of death??? uuuuggggghhhhh

Counting, identifying the dead a low priority for officials

BY KATIE FAIRBANK
The Dallas Morning News

/snip/

"When the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team is able to recover the bodies, they will institute an emergency plan to take DNA and available identification then bury them in temporary mass graves. That plan is sensitive and has never been instituted in the United States before . . .

http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/news/nation/12555489.htm

Several officials this week met questions about the high number of deaths with anger. Federal workers said that the state is responsible for answering those questions and the state referred all questions to FEMA.

"We are starting to take care of and receive those bodies that have been found," said Michael Brown, chief of FEMA. "It amazes me that you want to focus so much on the body counts."

Was it Tommy Franks ? - "we don't do body counts"

seems like FEMA don wanna either

are they taking ALL the pages from Iraq?

(sigh)

I blame FEMA for not getting the vehicles or boats that are needed to remove the bodies and set up a temporary morgue.

21. Incredibly gruesome
This may be a way to keep them from floating away and out of the reach of aligators until the boats come to pick them up.

There's going to be alot of bodies which have to be collected quickly.
