Can I ask a question?
OK, I don't think that anyone has any question that the timing of the Big Convoy into New Orleans yesterday was carefully planned to coincide with The Descent From The Clouds of the Savior of Storm-Struck America.

My questionis this: I happened to have the TV on when, surprise, suprise, the Big Impressive Cavalry-To-The-Rescue Convoy was so magnificently rolling by in review, brought to us by a Fox News camera crew who, well, just happened to be in the perfect place to deliver the heartstiring images that made us feel good to be Americans. For a couple of minutes at least, until we all figured out that we'd been bullshitted yet again.

OK, OK, here's the question, finally: Did anyone here see such clear, dramatic views of that convoy from any other network than Fox? Does anyone remember any other network even saying anything about that convoy for quite a little while?

I hope you did, because I'd be relieved to be able to know that Fox News was not, indeed, in on the whole setup.

Just seems a little unbelievable for a "news" operation, even one as scummy as Fox, to get advance notice of tha hideous charade without even ONE person blowing the whistle. But maybe Rove and them just did their pet network a favor on the sly?

But if my suspicion is true, go ahead and tell me the truth anyway.

2. All I can recall is that all the other networks were saying
"The people are still waiting...". Good call Redstone. I wouldn't put anything past FAUX.

8. National Guard
I don't think we ought to let Blanco off easy just because she is a Democrat. Bush doesn't control the Louisiana National Guard, she does, and she didn't do a damn thing but blather on TV while NO flooded and half the state blew away. Two days after what was left of Katrina went off into Canada, she finally sends in the National Guard.

People who live in the North know that you don't start running the snow plows after the snow stops. You roll the plows before it starts. The Guard should have been alerted, with trucks ready to go to evacuate people as soon as they knew NO was going to be hit.

15. Nice try
Won't work. She did her part, she got Louisiana designated a disaster area BEFORE the hurricane which meant the federal agencies were supposed to start doing their part, they did not.

16. Hi Jim.
The Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, offered to send in the NM National Guard last Saturday. He had to clear it with Washington. Do you know when he heard back? THURSDAY afternoon.

This is a breakdown of leadership and policies on the Federal level. Governor Blanco had put several requests for help into Washington and FEMA that weren't acted upon.

4. Redstone, I saw it on CNN -
a long line of big trucks, with a little truck in the front; but it may have been a FOX feed. They do share that kind of video, I believe.

5. But were the other networks right next to the road with the trucks
streaming by, like Fox was? I really would like to know.

7. I saw it on CNN & MSNBC, I don't doubt it was coreographed,
but it wasn't a private FOX thing. I was watching CNN at the time, and the announcer was saying, geee where are they going? I don't recognize the road they're taking. Then he said, it takes some time to get familiar with where you are when you go into a new area. I found that a bit odd! Wouldn't ya think somebody would have told the lead truck exactly which way to turn?

10. You'd think so, but remember that this is our Government
we're talking about here. They can't, as a group, find their asses with both hands.

9. I saw it on CNN but
the film of the convoy was shot from a helicopter. I wouldn't call that the perfect place to film the dramatic entry. I didn't see the Fox report so I don't know how different CNN's film was.

11. Just like Lance Armstrong was instructed
not to pedal ahead of the chimp, the relief was instructed not to arrive before his lowness. He thinks he's the king you know.
