Blame Shifting Will Start Tomorrow
Watch the Sunday talk shows. This is where they try to rewrite history and pin as much of this on the locals as they can. At the very least, they need to make it so blurry that no one can tell what was what and share the blame.

It sucks, but this is sure to happen. Look for the mayor and governor to be targets, since they've been openly critical as they pleaded for help.

1. Without a doubt
and the Democratic leadership will sit on their hands and later praise Bush's handling of the debacle.

2. I hope Russsert sees what is happening. I hope he has a patriotic
moment. I hope he has a clue. I think the Horsethief is on.

Most definitley
The mayor was recently out blaming Bush saying he shouldn't be the president anymore etc. So I know for sure you're going to be right.

6. People are still dying as we speak,
so it may be political suicide for these jerks to be playing the blame game. They may can do that crap with the usual piss-ass matters that confront them, but this is some deadly serious stuff.

8. They're politically dead unless they can spread it around -- they
really have no choice. This is just my opinion, of course, but I think they've got to try.

They could hold back a week, but the damage is so great at the moment that my money is on tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong.

13. I meant in an organized way. You are right, we've already seen it. And
you are right that reality is a problem.

The country has its eyes open on this one. I don't think they realize that they can't 9/11 this one...

10. And nobody will call them on the 5 days that disappeared.
They will extol the relief efforts

The large numbers of people deployed

The money opened up by Congress

But, conveniently, nobody will ask why it didn't start last weekend...

11. It wouldn't have mattered if they were openly critical or not, they
always point the finger in the opposite direction!

12. Someone should tell them
that this is not the time to be placing blame and then watch their head explode.
