16. Some interesting predictions for the oil crash
The economic impact will cause massive debt, and people in debt will be conscripted to fight in resource wars or to try to keep agriculture going in the absence of fossil-fuel-based chemicals and tractors...

I have been making much the same predictions.

Tucker

18. I want to hear him discuss whether we'll have a soft crash or a hard one.
Will the lights come on and off intermittently, with the power staying on for few hours as the days and weeks go by? Or will they just go out one day and never come back on?

Will the food & goods trucks come less and less often, or stop coming altogether?

I'm leaning towards a soft crash spread over maybe two to three years, but he's devoted a lot more time and thought to this topic..

22. He wasn't able to answer that question.
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 03:07 AM by lvx35
Basically he was saying that the amount of corporate influence on the government makes it impossible for the government to intervene to counteract the impending oil crisis, and he's right. I've been studying economics and this is deadly serious, in my eyes. The "invisible hand" of the market has tied of the "visible hand" of government intervention for the well being of the people. So this is inevitable, but timelines are tough...It depends a great deal on foreign politics as well, including with Iraq. MY head-in-ass guess is seven years, but we'll see!

23. Seven years from now,
I should still be alive. I was hoping I could miss this.

The Economics of Innocent Fraud by John Kenneth Galbraith.

You ought to read that if you are studying economics. Galbraith says how the private sector controls the public sector. It is the private sector who determines that we go to war.

30. Ian Punnett just said, as he ended the first hour, which just was replayed
that it has been disclosed that authorities have ordered 50,000 body bags to send to New Orleans.

I heard him clearly, at 5:59 a.m., EST.

This is very, very sad.

31. The END of Oil, will be the beginning of a world that makes sense..we need
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 05:08 AM by evolvenow
alternatives NOW, before anything crashes. Do not wait, start now to find solutions.

When OIL is over, EVIL CORPORATIONS AND THE WAR CRIMINAL CLUB are done with.

Eventually, we will have solar, wind, water, thermal, biodiesel, free energy, anti-graviry: generoactive cool technologies...the very opposite of the insane radioactive, combustion, heat based technologies that have been killing this planet....that is why OIL must end, or this planet and everything living on it, is done with.

Man must learn how to live in step with Nature, and take care of all living beings...that is the lesson, to take care and stop causing so much harm.

people know this inately, and when OIL is no more, we can really evolve and live with more peace, and prosperity for all.

Just imagine, that all of the money wasted on illegal war went to humanitarian efforts, it will be amazing.
