Norw. top news: "New Orleans left to the dead and dying"

"Tonight, the Superdome and the huge conference center that have housed many people the last days, was emptied and people evacuated to refugee centers in nearby cities"

(snip)

"No one dare to guess how many thousand that have lost their lives. But everyone now knows that New Orleans are the city of the dead. They are everywhere; in streets and canals, on lofts and in beds and stairs."

1. Amazing how the real pictures come from overseas.
You don't need to know the language. Reminds us what photojournalism really means.

This is happening in our own country, in our America.

2. I did another

The top article reads:

"Crisis in hospitals

Several hundred dies daily in the hurricane-affected areas in the US because the medical help arrive too late

Even victims in makeshift hospitals dies, caused by lack of medicines and equipment.

More and more dead

American authorities has not yet come forward with an official number of dead, but fear that as many as 10.000 has lost their lives. The death toll is increasing every hour.

Journalists inside New Orleans describes the city as a 'ghost town'. Bodies, many of them children, are floating in the flooded streets, and a terrible stench has taken over the southern city."
