FEMA's new spin attempt
ON "Fox News Sunday", Chertoff is saying that, if we look "back" at the problems that occured getting supplies to and evacuees out of New Orleans, we'll distract ourselves from dealing with the problems that will arise in the future.

4. Chertoff should be give the job of cleaning up the dead bodies and debris.
Personally. Let him clean the shit out of the toilets and off of the walls, let him deal personally with the bodies left in the superdome, let him be the ones to find and call their families and tell them what happened to their loved ones and when he's done with all that, let him hand deliver food and suppliers to those still waiting in their homes for help.

11. OMG
You have indeed found the RIGHT punishment for these bastards! I am against the death penalty, so I was always trying to find something befitting the crime other than languishing in jail.

This is perfect!

Body clean-up in Iraq and NO for the Bush administration. It will be six months until the water is cleared....just enough time. Meanwhile, we can end the Iraq war and set these bastards up for clean-up in Iraq. One brick/body part at a time.

Befitting.

5. Yep. That same message was mentioned all over the place on TV this
morning. "Now is not the time," they say. Bullshit! Document the evidence!

6. Mr. Chertoff: Remember "The buck stops here"?
I guess not. That was back in the day when public servants believed in such antiquated concepts as "personal responsibility" and "accountability." And, oh yeah, "love of country." These days those concepts only apply to the middle and lower classes. Such as those old people in wheelchairs and 9-month pregnant women who failed to take responsibility for their own lives and evacuate New Orleans.

8. Just like Iraq: 'Hey, let's not worry about how we GOT here! What

matters is where it's going!'

To be sure, there is some truth, but if they had it their way there will NEVER be an examination of what happened until they can present their own fabricated version of events.

And of course, JUST LIKE IRAQ, we NEED to examine "how we got there" so we can prevent ourselves "getting" to similar places in the future.

If we don't look at how this now, the next time disaster happens, the results will be even worse. Any idiot can see that.

14. Another fallacy in that argument:
Do you really want the SOBs who screwed up so badly in the first place running the rest of the operation?

What guarantee will you give us, Mr Chertoff, that you are competent enough to finish the job?

Why SHOULD we have any faith in you or your subordinates now?

With all the lies, excuses and half-truths you, Mr Chertoff, have told so far, why should we believe ANYTHING you say now?
