In a week of spin and counter-spin, there ARE evident FACTS

1. 2 days before the hurricane hit, *² went on TV and declared an emergency BEFORE the storm hit, because he KNEW it would be HORRIFIC.
2. More than TWO YEARS ago (and all during the intervening time) the EXACT scenario was known and congressional hearing held about NO & hurricane damage
3. The National Guard IS depleted due to Iraq call-ups..(in such a disaster, EVERY guardsman is NECESSARY)
4. The day of the storm, ² was fund raising and schmoozing with hand-picked audiences
The day after the storm, he was still schmoozing and campaigning
5. 2 days after the storm he was eating cake, playing golf and campaigning, and schmoozing with friendly audiences
6. 3 days after the storm, he was strumming a guitar and clowning for audiences.
7. News crews had LITTLE difficulty getting into storm areas immediately after the storm.
8. News crews had no trouble "finding" people who needed rescuing
9. The Governor of Louisiana asked for help and lots of it..On AUG 28
10.FAA says NO reports of gunfire at ANY flying craft was reported or overheard.(they were monitoring ALL flights of any kind)

People in the superdome and convention center were not allowed to leave and were stuck in a horrible situation.

The met experts warned from Saturday that a catastrophic hurricane would hit exactly wehre it hit. The models were unbelievably accurate.

...people were TOLD to go to the Convention Center. They did NOT just wander over there spontaneously on their own (a myth that has sprung up in an attempt to paper over the catastrophe of that situation).
