Bush worries about what it says to terrorist if we leave Iraq.
but what does it say to them as they watch a storm devastate us. He can't even take care of his own people here.

1. They are probably saying "Allah Akbar" , "God is great". This is...

...punishment to the great Satin. It is also probably inspiring them to figure out a way to kick us while we are down.

4. I'd be more worried that we are telling
the terrorists and the rest of the world our government is too fucking inept and uncaring to take care of our own people

5. And New Orleans....Iran (supposed terrorist state) offered U.S.
....an unlimited crude oil at $35.00 per barrel and billions of dollars in aid....and what did Bush do? He refused to accept the offer. Bush has refused both international help and help from other U.S. cities (i.e. Chicago). Why?

9. No I don't but I heard it earlier this week on one of the audio news breaks
...I've been trying to locate a link, but have not been successful. Even Sweden and Holland offered major relief help and would send experts to provide aid, but the Bush administration turned ALL of these outside offers down. No explanations given.

I think reporters in the disaster areas have been overwhelmed by the magnitude of human suffering even to know about these, while the news anchors like Wolfie and spin doctors like Hannity are just playing all these stories of Bush's arrogance and pride and incompetence. Even the Sunday morning shows have failed to address these issues. NPR was playing "feel good" type sidebars and just ignoring the larger picture of government agencies disaster relief failures!

12. I think nowadays, with advanced warning capabilities
They fly out days before any bad weather hits. They usually go to Guam or Diego Garcia. Yeah, those concrete boxes are still there.

13. Logical explanation why * turned the aid down...
Write this down---* would likely have to account for every $ that the other countries sent *and* any humanitarian (rescuers, etc.) aid would show the world what's REALLY going on here (as opposed to the "veil" Bushco chooses to display). The MSM put a number of chinks in the * armor, but obviously, they're not showing EVERYTHING.

7. Little late for that, isn't it.
A'hole starts an illegal war, destroys stability in the world, alienates our allies, throws everything including the kitchen sink into fighting both sides of a civil war in another country, loots the national treasury, destroys our infrastructure, and all he worries about is if he looks strong. No, he looks like the ass he is.

8. The response to Katrina tells the "terrorists" much more
Obviously the US is vulnerable. And it's easy to bring a city down.

Now THAT is fucking scary!

10. Junkdrawer worries about the National Guard if we stay in Iraq.
This week shows how much we need an effective National Guard.

Unquestionably much of the aftermath tragedy was because we didn't have the Guard here.

How many will sign up for the Guard if we send them to die in Iraq?

11. They know now, plainly ...
... that if they really want to 'destroy our freedoms' ... all it would take would be one or two very well coordinated attacks on certain large metropolitan areas, and we would be on our knees -- because the BFEE has gutted the national infrastructure ...

I keep hearing the Kerry/Edwards motto in my head (paraphrase)
"Stronger at home, Respected abroad"
... and I want to cry, because we are so, so far from that now.

:(
