3. I don't know why Kerry, but there's no love by Lott for Shrub!
He's still pissed that Shrub hung him out to dry when he had to step down from Senate leader.

Who ya gonna call? A real hero and leader, or a drug-addled ne'er-do-well whose only job responsibility is posing for photos?

8. Holy crap, really???
Was it sincere or one of those "what are YOU doing to help?" type of statements?

If sincere, I think Bush just lost the South.

Reporting for Duty, President Kerry! :patriot:

John Kerry should be over there right away and start helping take over the whole situation, he knows what those families need.

13. Should have called Al Gore
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 11:05 AM by BringEmOn
He's actually doing something. Clinton would have been on the ground helping, too (before he became Babs Bush's son).

(corrected typo)

16. For those who don't know about Gore in NOLA yesterday...
Gore chartered a plane, went down to NOLA, and personally loaded critically ill patients into the plane and flew them to hospitals in Tennessee - - on his own dime. He would have been there earlier, but FEMA jerked him around for days before they cleared the flight.

Haven from fury Mercy Flight Brings Evacuees to ET

Gore accompanies about 140 arrivals from New Orleans but declines to take credit

By ROBERT WILSON

(snip)

About 140 people - mostly elderly and infirm - arrived Saturday at McGhee Tyson Airport on a chartered mercy flight from hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, welcomed to East Tennessee by a bright sun and a host of medical professionals straining at the reins to help their fellow human beings without regard to whether they were on the clock.

The displaced hurricane victims came to Tennessee on a hastily arranged flight, accompanied by doctors and carrying whatever they had in boxes, bags or, in one case, an old suitcase tied up with rope.

Former Vice President Al Gore arranged the flight and was on board, but he declined to take credit for the airlift, fearing it would be "politicized."

14. Change of heart, Trent?
You fucking asshole. Maybe if you hadn't done this shit, he'd be handling this disaster instead of your ex-pal shrub*.

PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Sen. Trent Lott today told an enthusiastic Neshoba County Fair crowd that Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry is “a French-speaking socialist from Boston, Massaschusetts, who is more liberal than Ted Kennedy.”
It was a line that Lott said he’d been working on for a while, and it produced loud applause from hundreds of Mississippians gathered at Founders’ Square, the centerpiece of the historic fair.

Lott took the podium to blast Kerry, the senator from Massachusetts, and his running mate, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.

15. I thought Lott said that John & Teresa Kerry called him
To ask what they could do to help, and Lott gave them a list of open airports (I assume in Alabama, since Lott doesn't have any federal role in Katrina "relief" efforts). I may have misheard.

17. No, you didn't mishear
The OP misheard. I listened to the broadcast and Trent Lott said that he had received a call from John Kerry.
