5. It shuts up their "small government" theory.

They've worked that "government doesn't solve problems" schtick for 25 years now. Well now th chickens have come home to roost. Yeah, they've made FEMA, which used to be one of the great success stories of the Federal goverment, fucking usless now. People will be more cynical of it after Katrina, I'd say.

6. I think it was another wake up call for most
I, and I'm sure most, had just taken for granted the roll FEMA played, you just assumed that the Government would help us after a disaster.

12. No Kidding! Good point to remember.
It's amazing how they say one thing and are actually saying something completely different than what we think they are saying.

Now BUR link gets me an audio file equivelent of a 404 error message. Anyone know any other NPR stations carrying this? My local Denver station is useless.

11. The show has switched to NPR's main page now
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 01:21 PM by Up2Late
"Talk of the Nation" program and Host have taken over now.

They are switching to the Death of Rehnquist now, I think they might switch back and forth, but I'm not sure how much.
