Defending Mayor Nagin
I have entered into a conversation on a different webforum with someone who is an ardent critic of the idea that a large amount of the blame for the New Orleans disaster lies on President Bush's shoulders (http://boards.1up.com/zd/board/message?board.id=egmofftop&message.id=491697&page=24, in case you want to see our discussion go to page 24 of the thread). Is there a list of links I could use to show him that the state and local leadership did try to do everything they could for the city?

2. We documented most of what actually went on in NO
on this site while it happened. Unfortunately the advance search function for this site is off right now. But as soon as I can I want to go through the posts to find all the references to Nagan and all his pleas for help that we were reporting.

It was horrible to hear reports of him asking for help and then FEMA would tell him help was coming, then two hours later he was back on the air screaming about where the hell is the help?

This operation was a total FLOP at the Federal Level. It was a Failure to Lead On Purpose.
