Here's a good place to make a monetary donation for Katrina victims

www.voiceofthewetlands.com. It is based in Houma LA and was originally started as a tool to reverse the damage to the wetlands of South Louisiana. They are now going to divert the money to help out the victims of the hurricane. If you choose to donate, you can be assured that 100% of your money will go to help victims. And put a specific purpose in the subject line of a check and they will try and make sure that is where the money goes. It is a good cause, even if you are a northerner like me. After all, we are seeing what the destruction of the wetlands has done. Help reverse the trend and help out victims at the same time. Thanks.

Well, I tried to make folks aware of an alternative to the donation sites they all bitch about. Guess there's still nothing like the RedCross and various church sites though.
