Here is what you get with Republicans running the government

A Republican Congress and a Republican president together slashed a request by the Army Corps of Engineers for $105 million for additional flood protection measures in New Orleans down to just over $40 million, and at the same time they approved $230 million for a bridge to an uninhabited Alaskan island? $230 million dollars for a bridge to nowhere?

lots of gimmes in that one, glaringly wasteful in light of present circumstances...
