"Speak"

"Seven years of power
The corporation claw
The rich control the government, the media the law
To make some kind of difference
Then everyone must know

Eradicate the fascists, revolution will grow

The system we learn says we're equal under law
But the streets are reality, the weak and poor will fall
Let's tip the power balance and tear down their crown
Educate the masses, We'll burn the White House down

Speak to me the pain you feel
Speak to me the pain you feel
Speak the word (Revolution)
The word is all of us
Speak the word (Revolution)
The word is all of us
Speak the word
The word is all of us
Speak the Word
The word is all of us

Speak!!!

Am I the only one who can't stop blasting "Mindcrime" nearly non stop nowadays? it is truly scary how this album seems like it was written for the present.

1. YES!
I almost forgot about Queensryche.

I just remember listening to my Empire tape nonstop when it came out...I think I was in 7th grade.

2. I saw them right before the election..

they played the entire Mindcrime Album. They had video and actors, it was awesome. Took a number of jabs at Bush. They are working on a sequel to Mindcrime. I had the chance to go to the meet and greet after the show. It was great. I just wish DeGarmo would come back...

7. They didn't actually say anything most of it was in the videos
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 05:31 PM by walldude
the jab that sticks out most in my mind was when they were playing Revolution Calling, during the video there was a shot of two groups of people one holding a Bush sign and the other holding a Kerry sign, before they cut away the Bush sign burst into flames. It was pretty sweet. There were tons of Bush photos during Eyes Of A Stranger as well.. The whole show was a giant slap at Bush.. plus they revealed who killed Mary... Couldn't ask for much more.

We have alot in common friend, I met John Petrucci at a guitar workshop. They guy is amazing. Dream Theater is my 3rd favorite right behind Pink Floyd and Queensryche! I actually saw them on a double bill(DT and QR). It was the best show I ever saw right behind the Roger Waters In The Flesh tour....

Oh and if you want to meet QR just join the fan club, it's like 20 bucks and they do meet and greets after every show. I have a friend who has been a long time fan, he actually got to go to a private rehersal at Geoff Tates house...

12. They don't forget their fans.
I stood outside in the pouring rain just to get a chance to tell them they rock. I couldn't hang at the Bayou. I had to listen to the belly aching envy of the lower order that night. But I must say I was amazed at Chris' greeting at Hammerjacks a few weeks later. I get it. I really get it. Time to take hold of the Flame!

9. If you put Rush and Pink Floyd in a blender
Queensryche would come out. Seattle band. They had a hit single in the 80's called Silent Lucidity. If you like progressive rock they are one of the best.

13. Religion and sex are power plays,
manipulate the people for the money they pay.
Selling skin, selling God,
the numbers look the same on their credit cards.

Politicians say no to drugs, while we pay for wars in South America
Fighting fire with empty words while the fat stay fat, the poor stay poor
the rich get rich and the cops get paid to look away
while the one percent of society keeps spreading the disease.
