Fed Response to Katrina Gets Thumbs Down---Rasmussen
The usually Bush friendly Conservative pollster Scott Rasmussen has chilling news for the President. The American public thinks he dropped the ball on the hurricane disaster response.

Just 28% of the U.S. public gives the administration good or excellent marks.

46% say poor.

When all the facts come out, this dismal assessment may well be the President's "high water mark" (please excuse the pun).

3. 28% is the most he'll get on this.
As the truth comes out that number will plummet. Count on it.

8. Does no harm, but it also means
a lot of people who pray for the victims haven't opened their wallets.

5. When Rasmussen has bad news for Bush
He's in big trouble.

45% Poor
25% Fair

Combined that's 70%.

"Consumer confidence has fallen to its lowest level in more than two years."

10. Rather bizarre poll results...
seeing as ABC/WaPo had much more favorable numbers for BushCo.

16. ABC/WaPo was taken two days before Rasmussen. In this case,
two days make a difference, I'm willing to bet.

18. ABC/WaPo was conducted 9/2,
Rasmussen was conducted 9/2-3. So it's not *that* huge of a difference.

12. "Interest in the story is extraordinarily high. "
"Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Americans say they are closely following news stories about the tragedy, including 59% who are following it "very closely."

This is good news, expect to see the disapproval rate rise.

13. Ok, I told you so. Their rock solid base is only 27 to 37%. They
raised the number after 9-11 because of gullible people and people who like to go to war.

I've watched these percentages for over 10 years. Their religious followers and their old timer Republicans come to about 1/3 of the country. As low as that number is, it remains significant especially when they combine those votes with the votes they steal.
