The outright breaks with expected behavior of Bush Ad now seems sinister.
Cutting telephone lines. Strange how quickly they moved folks out of Superdome but could not even bring in water and food for 5 days. Seems almost planned. Another thread stated that the levee should have been fixed in 24 hours.

This seems like a strange and deeply disturbing ....to find a way to control all shipping and oil industry to take over NO.

Gentrification is not the goal...it is control of oil. perhaps. Somehow this is just more than most anyone can take.

1. He's wrong about one thing -- change
Brooks says in his column "All we can be sure of is that the political culture is about to undergo some big change."

Nope. I don't think so. I think all we can be certain is that the lobbies which run this country will continue to pit us against ourselves and use hate and fear as the weapon.

2. That's right, Alpharetta, be positive!
What possible benefit is a defeatist attitude? Throughout human history, nothing positive, nothing progressive would ever have been achieved, with that attitude.

3. It will not work

I live in Baltimore, which is almost like a sister city to New Orleans,
people will come back as soon as it is dry to their homes, they will
fight tooth and nail for their homes, it doesn't matter how many Halliburtons there are, this is not Iraq and Bush knows nothing about
the average Joe. They have already found people that refuse to leave
and are still in their homes.
