DANGER! It's CHERTOF, not BROWN.
Go after Homeland Security, Bush, Cheney, Chertof, Myers...

Brown is the incompetent stooge lightning rod...

His job is to take the public fall while the truly evil slink away from accountability.

FEMA was folded into Homeland Security.

FEMA is irrelevant.

This is about Chertof. This is about Cheney running the ops behind the scenes.

Brown is THE BUFFOON.

IGNORE HIM.

Go after the puppeteers, not the puppet.

1. Go after BOTH!
I don't see why one has to be picked over another when both are totally and criminally incompetent.

6. Go after Rummie
He's the one really running the show and he's running the NOLA disaster like he runs Iraq.

7. Bush/Chertoff will continue to sabotage FEMA after Brown goes.
Face it. Bush appoints cabinet level secretaries and the Republican Senate will continue to approve these corrupt hacks. If one slips through who shows some integrity, he or she will quickly be forced to resign to "spend time with their familiy". Look what happened to Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill when he tried to shine the light of reason and sanity on the neocon's policies and actions. The only thing that might work would be putting FEMA under Congressional control - quite unprecedented.

8. I agree
We've seen the application of a military solution to disaster relief. That's what Homeland Security has done.

It makes no sense in a natural disaster, but it shows the logic of martial law.

9. Go after Brown hard enough to flip him.......
on second thought, he might become one of the casualties of Katrina before he testifies. Go after him anyway, I don't like his lying white bread ass in the first place.

17. Link to Chertoff's disastrous press conference Saturday
QUESTION: Who is in charge now in restoring law and order? And is there a central body who's dealing with a plan to evacuate people and get order restored?

CHERTOFF: The National Guard under the law has the responsibility for maintaining order. And that's why we're bringing more National Guard in.

Of course, the National Guard reports to the governor. But at this point, the National Guard is working closely with General Honore, who is the Defense Department joint task force commander on the ground. He's commanding those elements of logistical support and other DOD activities. And he's really working very closely in partnership with the Louisiana Guard authorities to make sure that security is being covered.

So far, this transcript on CNN is the only one I've been able to find. Also, I haven't had time to go over it closely and find all the contradictory things he said. You have to scroll about half way down the page to the press conference.
